Nigeria Team plan chartered flight for Ethiopia clash

privatejetnigeria406x263The Nigeria Football Federation are considering getting a chartered flight to fly the Eagles to Ethiopia for next month’s crucial first leg play-off of the World Cup qualifiers.

The decision to opt for a chartered flight is not unconnected with the high altitude in Ethiopia as the NFF are planning to breeze in and out of the East African country since the luxury of proper acclimatisation which takes upwards of two weeks cannot be afforded now.

Purpose

-The idea is to storm Addis Ababa in our chartered flight like 48 hours to the game and leave as soon as possible before the weather starts affecting the players.

-We are not taking chances with the match. A board member of the NFF explained.

He continued- It will take us two weeks to get acclimatised with the high altitude of Addis and since we cannot afford such luxury, our best bet is to get there on the eve of the match and leave immediately.

Tradition

Chartered flight arrangements are no new feature with the Eagles having travelled in similar ways for recent away games against Malawi and Rwanda.
