ebc8d047Former Defense Force Major Who Took Land Illegally Got a Three Years Prison Sentence A Former defense force member, Major Abreha Gidey, who took a 460 square meters of land through an illegally formed organization sentenced to three years in prison.

He is convicted for taking a 460 square meters land through an illegally formed organization named ‘Tigist lefere’ in Addis Ababa Bole sub city’s woreda 10 area.

The Federal Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission’s prosecutor has charged Major Abreha Gidey, Ato Mubarek Abdella and Ato Ali Mohammed for corruption of power and preparing a fake document.

The prosecutor’s file indicate that the accused three individuals have created and used the fake identity cards of an inexistent 10 individuals to form a cover organization to get 460 square meters of land each in the names of those supposed members of the organization.

The now retired defense force Major Abreha Gidey has also taken 75,000 Br from 10 other individuals by claiming that he is representing other members of the organization. For crimes he has committed the Federal court’s 15th court has convicted Major Abreha Gidey to three years in prison and ordered for the land taken be returned back to the government.
The other two individuals who were charged with the Major have become free.
