ANOLE Memorial Monument Inaugurated

1351fc28The ANOLE memorial monument which cost about 20 million Birr was inaugurated in a remarkable ceremonial fashion.

Ato Muktar Kadir, OPDO head and president of Oromia regional government, said on the occasion that the establishment of this historical monument is to commemorate those Oromo heroes were harshly slaughtered and killed for strongly resisting the then oppressive regime.

Ato Muktar added that the development successes being recorded in the region nowadays are the fruits of the establishment of OPDO and its strong commitment in the last 24 years.

This ANOLE historical monument is believed to be serving as Oromo cultural heritage hall, center for studies and research, and a place for the identity of Oromo people.
According to Mr. Mohammed Jilo, head of Oromia culture and tourism bureau, a lot of work is being undertaken to make the monument a tourist attraction center.

High profile personalities both from the Federal and Oromia regional government have attended the event.
